Seattle critters

This will be short because I'm desperately sleepy.

Crossing back into the U.S. was much easier this time - maybe 15 minutes instead of 90.

Deb and I walked fast around nearby Green Lake, just short of three miles on a nice paved path. Here's one of a community of turtles she and Tom and their kids have been observing for years. Sorry, the amateur cameraman and over-automated camera focused on the reeds instead of the turtle.

Later she, Tom and I visited the Chittenden Locks to watch salmon heading up the fish ladder and fry heading down to the Pacific to begin their life cycle. Here are some mature salmon (or steelheads?) in one of the tanks of the ladder that has been fitted out with viewing windows.

We ended up at Ray's Cafe, an informal restaurant upstairs from their fancier seafood restaurant. We watched a sailboat race or two on the bay. They had prawns; I had halibut over risotto. Both were wonderful, and so was the sunset. I took this photo a while before sunset. Good-night!
